Jessica
Speech-Language Pathologist Director
Jessica is a state licensed and American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech-language pathologist (CCC-SLP). A native Ohioan, she earned her masters in speech language pathology from Kent State University in 2014 and has had a career focused in medical-level pediatrics. While she has seen it all, her clinical specialties lie in feeding and swallowing disorders.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her four children and working on home renovations with her husband. They also manage to pack everyone in the RV for local camping trips and National Park hopping around the country.
Libby
Speech-Language Pathologist
Libby is a state licensed and American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech-language pathologist (CCC-SLP) with clinical experiences in the public schools and outpatient settings. She is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University with a Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Libby is an excellent generalist in the field, but also boast a specialty in Childhood Apraxia of Speech with extensive additional trainings and hundreds of hours in clinical work.
Libby enjoys hiking local trails with her giant fluff-ball of a dog, Nico, and rock climbing with her husband. Before becoming an SLP, Libby enchanted little ones with her party-princess personas and she brings this same magic to her session!
Allison
Speech-Language Pathologist
Allison joins our clinic with extensive experience in pediatrics through both outpatient settings and university clinics. She is a graduate of Kent State University with a Master's of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and holds her ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs). While Allison is a general SLP with a mastery of common diagnoses, she also is our resident Dyslexia specialist and interventionist with training in the Orton-Gillingham program.
Allison enjoys exploring new restaurants and the simple joys of life including reading, crafting and bingeing true-crime documentaries. Allison has clinical interests in neurogenic speech and language disorders as well as literacy intervention.
Kelly
Occupational Therapist
Kelly is a licensed and registered Doctor of Occupational Therapy. A native Ohioan, she completed her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University and went out West for her Doctoral degree through A.T. Still Univeristy in Mesa, Arizona.
She comes to us with years of pediatric experience and a love for sensory integration and teaching fine motor skills. Her heart lies with children who have come from trauma backgrounds or those in the foster care system. When she is out of the clinic she Kelly enjoys watching Disney movies, cheering on the Buckeyes, traveling with her husband and shopping for toys for her dog, Wilber--or her new baby boy Iri!
Alex
Speech-Language Pathologist Feeding Specialist
Alex is a seasoned therapist coming from the ranks of Case Western Reserve University. Over her years, she has gathered extensive experience and knowledge in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. At Leaps and Sounds, Alex works with the full array of speech-language disorders as well as feeding and oral function.
Alex is originally from South Carolina and was raised on her familiy's farm. She relocated to Cleveland for her graduate education and stayed for our lovely Ohio winters! When she is not teaching kids to eat, Alex enjoys playing rec volleyball and softball with her husband and loving on her two puppies.
Elyse
Occupational Therapist
Jeff
Chief Maintenance Officer
Elyse joins us from Cleveland State University where she completed her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Also a native Ohioan, she excited to stay close to home after completeing her education. With special expertise in neonatology and infants, Elyse has a passion for teaching functional life skills to the pediatric population; all the way back to their earliest days!
When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time in nature; either lounging on the beach or hiking in the woods. Elyse also delights in the good company of her friends and family over a delicious meal!
Jeff is Berkshire 4th grade teacher, but volunteers his time (and sanity) keeping our clinic in tip-top shape and renovating the clinic's ever-evolving expansions! This includes, building walls, laying floors, running electric, installing plumbing, piecing together plastic trees and working side-by-side with our director (aka his wife) to help make it all happen! If it looks good, stands straight or runs like it should, it probably has Jeff's stamp on it. And if it doesn't... he just hasn't gotten to it yet!
When he's not changing light fixtures out with a pair of nail clippers at 8:00 pm (yes, that really happened!), Jeff enjoys hanging out with his kids and leading his kids' Boy Scout pack. He also manages to find time for his love of cooking and watching the Cleveland Brown's lose.
